About Simplifying Special Ed Law
Welcome to Simplifying Special Ed Law, a newsletter about special education law and advocacy. Thank you so much for your interest in special education rights and this newsletter community.
My name is Ashley Nyce, I am a lawyer, mother, and former elementary school teacher. I have taught special education law and child advocacy at Georgetown University Law Center and Boston College Law School, working with families, teachers, healthcare providers, and law students to secure critical special education services for children with disabilities.
I am deeply passionate about special education rights and the importance of breaking down the law so that those supporting children with disabilities understand (1) what the law says, (2) why that part of the law is important for a child with a disability, and (3) how to use the law to make sure that each child receives the services they need.
I have seen time and time again how challenging and emotional it can be to navigate the special education process, and my sincere hope is that this newsletter may be a powerful resource in doing so.
Thank you again for your interest. Please feel free to subscribe for full access to the newsletter and publication archives.
